the wonderful things you learn in your school
Bear in mind that the wonderful things you learn in your schools are the work of many generations. All this is put in your hands as your inheritance in order that you may receive it, honor it, add to it, and one day faithfully hand it on to your children.

Science fiction idea
I have a science fiction idea, though I'm not sure how good a story it would make.
Imagine a future dominated by artificial beings and AI. Some humans would want to live a less technological existence. Others who live in the AI realm might choose to leave it and become physical. With almost unlimited resources, they could create regions devoted to different time periods. If you wanted to live in the 1980s, you could — or the 1950s. You could even travel between different eras.
Some science fiction stories have already explored similar ideas. Westworld, for example, is about a futuristic amusement park devoted to the Old West. I also remember a couple of other science fiction stories where people on a spaceship lived in domed artificial worlds, with each dome having a completely different environment.
This makes me wonder if the future might have more artificial environments, either virtual or physical.

Is a period at the end of a sentence supposed to go inside quotes?
It probably doesn't matter, but I like to be grammatically correct.
Periods and exclamation points are called "a full stop."
American English
-
Periods and commas always go inside the quotation marks, even if they're not part of the quoted material.
-
Example: She said, "I'm ready to go."
-
Example: I like the word "yes," but not "no."
-
-
Question marks and exclamation points go inside the quotation marks if they belong to the quoted material, but outside if they belong to the whole sentence.
-
Inside: He asked, "Are you coming?"
-
Outside: Did she really say "I'm not interested"?
-
British English
-
Punctuation goes inside the quotation marks only if it's part of the original quote. Otherwise, it stays outside.
-
Example: She said, "I'm ready to go".
-
Example: I like the word "yes", but not "no".
-
Example: Did she really say "I'm not interested"?
-
I think that I like the British way.
It seems to me that the above example ...
She said, "I'm ready to go".
Should have the period inside the quotes.

Why Do Americans Call This a Biscuit?
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Hl5drxqF09k
Bake something until it is completely dry and it can last for years. Sometimes decades. Some soldiers ate hardtack left over from previous wars.
Sea biscuits or hardtack led to the modern cracker.
